On October 15, 2013, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 rocked the Philippines. Three weeks later, Super Typhoon Yolanda hit the country with devastating gusts of over 350 km.
Among the 73,000 buildings destroyed was the St. Nino de La Paz elementary school in Loon, Bohol. The roof collapsed and classrooms were destroyed, leaving 450 children in grades 1 through 6 without a place to learn.
Master, in co-operation with the NGGID International School in Horsholm, Denmark organized a walkathon to collect money to rebuild St. Nino de La Paz. It was very touching to see the NGGID students’ enthusiasm and willingness to raise funds for other kids.
Meanwhile, more than 30 Master employees took money out of their own pockets to provide Lifestraws for people living in the area whose clean water supplies were affected by the natural disasters.
